Three arrested on suspicion of human trafficking after raids, involving more than 100 gardaí, in Cork and Roscommon

Three males are being held for questioning in garda stations in Cork for organised crime associated offences, following an operation involving greater than 100 gardaí on Saturday morning.

The boys, who’re of their thirties and forties, are being detained beneath part 50 of the Prison Justice Act, 2007.

Gardaí searched 5 places in Cork and two places in Roscommon. Along with arrests, objects of evidential worth had been seized in the course of the programs of the searches.

The operation was led by detectives from the Divisional Protecting Service Unit, Cork County. Different items concerned within the raids included the armed help unit, the human trafficking investigation and coordinatino unit, and the Garda cyber crime and nationwide financial crime bureaus.

Gardaí are investigating the actions of an organised crime group based mostly in Eire, with Jap European connections, concerned within the alleged trafficking of individuals into Eire for labour exploitation. The investigation is being supported by Europol.
