A 16-year-old has had his restricted licence suspended for 28 days after being clocked travelling at 150kmh south of Dunedin yesterday.
Sergeant Matt Lee mentioned an unmarked police automotive was travelling on State Freeway 1, between Allanton and Waihola, when the teenager handed him on the passing lane close to Waihola at 11.55am.
‘‘He was clocked on the radar, travelling at 150kmh.
‘‘The car was stopped by police and the motive force’s licence has been suspended routinely for 28 days as a result of extreme velocity he was travelling at.’’
Sgt Lee mentioned as a result of the motive force was 16, he can be referred to Youth Help and charged via the Youth Courtroom.
