The CPI(M)’s pupil wing, SFI, on Monday intensified its ongoing battle with the Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan by placing up banners in opposition to him in faculties throughout the state.

In accordance with visuals on TV channels, one such banner outdoors the Authorities Sanskrit School within the state capital stated Khan as Chancellor must be working for the colleges and never the Sangh Parivar.

The College students’ Federation of India (SFI) had on Sunday evening introduced it could be placing up lots of of posters and banners in opposition to Khan within the Calicut College in Malappuram district in addition to faculties throughout the state.

The scholars outfit determined to take the step after a few of its banners outdoors the college’s visitor home, the place the Governor is staying, had been pulled down by the police on the instructions of Khan.

The Governor was incensed that the banners weren’t eliminated even after he had pointed them out on Sunday afternoon and lashed out on the police for not taking any motion.

Enraged by SFI banners outdoors the Calicut College visitor home terming him a “sanghi” and demanding he “return”, Khan alleged that these had been put up by the state police on the instructions of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The allegation was made in a press launch issued by the Raj Bhavan.

Khan had additionally questioned the police deployed on the college whether or not such banners would have been allowed if the CM had been staying there.

“How come this (banner) is right here? I’m asking you (police) if CM was staying right here, would you enable this? You need to insult me? Sufficient is sufficient. You are attempting to make a mockery of legislation and order,” an incensed Khan shouted at police.

”If not now, in 3-4 months you’ll have to reply. This CM shouldn’t be going to stay perpetually. Don’t assume you’ll go unaccountable. Don’t be below that impression. You’ll not go unaccountable,” the Governor had stated.

Later, SFI activists led by its state secretary P M Arsho arrived there and put up extra banners with considered one of them saying — “down down chancellor.” They shouted slogans in opposition to the Governor, allegedly known as him a “scoundrel”, and likewise burned his effigy.
