Police dog bites youth after crash

An individual was bitten by a police canine after a gaggle of youths tried to flee a crash scene in Dunedin, police say. 

Officers responded to studies of the crash, on the nook of Corrie St and Queens Dr, shortly earlier than 5am right now. 

The incident concerned a gaggle of 4 youths, who fled the scene on foot following the crash, police mentioned. 

The canine tracked the placement of the youths and bit one in every of them.

A St John spokeswoman mentioned one ambulance attended the scene at 4.58am.

The particular person bitten was transported to Dunedin Hospital in a average situation and was handled. 

The youths have all been taken into custody.
