Japanese monetary providers firm Orix Company has purchased Osaka’s largest shipowner, Santoku Senpaku, in a deal valued at $2bn.
The deal, anticipated to undergo by the tip of subsequent month, will see 67 ships, predominantly bulk carriers plus some automobile carriers and container vessels, change palms.
Santoku Senpaku was established in 1972 by Masashi Taga who handed away final 12 months on the age of 80 along with his son-in-law, Junichi Taga, taking up the reins.
Orix, which owns 21 ships itself, has been a serious supply of finance for Santoku Senpaku through the years.
