Norwegian offshore seismic specialists Argeo and Shearwater have gained separate survey contracts offshore India.

Argeo’s NOK 154m ($14.5m) contract was awarded by India’s Nationwide Centre for Polar and Ocean Analysis. It should comprise a near-seabed exploration survey and information evaluation to determine and delineate huge seafloor sulphide deposits over India’s exploration contract space within the Indian Ocean.

The Argeo Searcher vessel will arrive in Mauritius in mid-February to start information acquisition after a two-day cease for crew change and shopper boarding. The mission is estimated to be accomplished in late Could.

Compatriot Shearwater GeoServices gained its take care of India’s Oil and Pure Fuel Company (ONGC) for a survey mission within the Cauvery Basin, positioned off the nation’s east coast.

Set to start within the early months of 2024, the mission will cowl a 4,600 sq km space within the Bay of Bengal, using the SW Empress to hold out the survey.

Argeo and Shearwater fashioned a strategic subsea and ocean backside node (OBN) seismic service alliance in 2023. As a part of the alliance, Argeo acquired the seismic vessel SW Bell from Sheerwater for $6m in money and about 20.1m shares within the firm.
