VANCOUVER — Fast motion by North Vancouver police together with a social media alert a few lacking canine named Amber allowed for a speedy restoration of the golden retriever.
Mounties say a frantic canine proprietor referred to as Monday to report that six-year-old Amber had been taken from the entrance of a retailer when the proprietor briefly went inside.
Officers canvassed the neighbourhood for surveillance footage and noticed a person on video strolling a canine that matched Amber’s description.
Inside minutes of releasing the pictures on social media, police say they had been flooded with calls that the suspect and the canine had been on a Seabus heading towards Vancouver.
Transit law enforcement officials met the pair on the metropolis’s Waterfront Station nearly three hours after Amber had been snatched.
Police say a person in his 40s is dealing with potential prices of theft below $5,000.
