Navy chopper crashes into San Diego Bay and all six crew on board survive, Navy says

A superior Navy helicopter crashed into San Diego Bay throughout a routine coaching mission Thursday night and all six crew members on board survived, the Navy mentioned.

In accordance with a press release, it occurred at about 6:40 p.m. native time.

An MH-60R helicopter from Helicopter Maritime Strike squadron (HSM) 41  “entered the water,” the Navy mentioned, however “because of the nature of the coaching” a security boat was on the scene and, with federal firefighters serving to, the crew was “promptly moved ashore.”

All had been being medically evaluated.

The reason for the crash was being investigated.

The Navy describes the MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter as its “most superior rotary wing maritime strike platform” and says its “latest Naval Aviators and Naval Aircrewmen” had been being taught tips on how to fly it.
