The Police Service of Northern Eire has begun a homicide investigation following the demise of a person in his 60s in Kilkeel, Co Down.
A lady can also be being handled for head accidents following an incident at a property within the Newcastle Street space.
A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of homicide and tried homicide.
Police mentioned cordons would stay in place within the space as their investigations proceed and added it was not being handled as a firearms-related incident.
Det Chief Insp Anthony Kelly mentioned: “Police acquired a report of a priority for security for a pair at a property within the Newcastle Street space of the city shortly after 12.50pm immediately.

“A lady, aged in her 60s, was additionally inside the home with critical head accidents.

He added: “At roughly 2pm, officers detained and arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of homicide and tried homicide.

Mr Kelly mentioned police inquiries stay ongoing to find out what occurred.
