Chief constable Amanda Blakeman, from the Nationwide Police Chiefs’ Council, stated: “Retail crime has a harmful impression and we’re dedicated to tackling offenders and supporting retailers in decreasing shoplifting and assaults on retail workers, that are fully unacceptable.
