Manipur CM denies resignation talks, says ‘no decision taken’

IMPHAL: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Sunday stated talks of resignation by him, his cupboard colleagues and MLAs have been “simply speculations and we aren’t taking any choice now.”

Singh’s comment comes within the wake of a report that went viral on social media on Saturday which stated “Singh alongside along with his cupboard colleagues of each the hills and valley and the MLAs have taken a decision to lift calls for with the central authorities regarding the state, whereas cautioning that every one of them will resign except the urgent points are addressed.”

“No concrete choice has been taken regarding the resignation and the matter is being deliberated upon,” he instructed reporters right here.

Replying to media queries on the sidelines of a programme, Singh stated, “We now have to take a concrete choice to guard our individuals and the state. To whom will we hand over the administration. We now have to consider that too.”

“On this explicit matter, we should always not play politics. We must always not take heed to voices of vested pursuits…We’re serious about what the scenario will likely be. We’re primarily involved concerning the lives of the individuals. Who will we hand over the duty to. We’re discussing it minutely. We might or might not resign however we’re severe,” Singh stated.

To a question on the current violence within the state, Singh stated, “The killing of 4 civilians every at Haotak and Ningthoukhong is extremely condemnable. It is a cowardly act. We now have arrested those that killed Moreh SDPO Anand. Equally, these concerned within the killing of the civilians will likely be booked too.”

Earlier addressing the general public on the event of the 52nd statehood Day, Singh stated, “Central forces weren’t being invited to watch and see what’s going on. We invited them to guard the state, the lives and properties of individuals. They aren’t being invited to observe.”

The Manipur CM additionally requested the “state commandos, IRB and Manipur Rifles personnel to stay ready always.”
