The Tuticorin police in Tamil Nadu have filed a case towards state Fisheries Minister Anitha R Radhakrishnan for his alleged derogatory remarks towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Aren’t you those that wished to kill Kamaraj when he was sleeping,” the minister was heard saying in a video in an obvious response to PM Modi, who had invoked Congress icon Okay Kamaraj at a rally.
NDTV could not independently confirm the video that includes the minister.
“We’ve booked the minister underneath part 294B (utilizing obscene phrases in public), based mostly on a grievance by a BJP functionary,” an officer from the Meignanapuram Police Station informed NDTV.
The state BJP has additionally written to the Election Fee for motion towards the minister.

Sharing the video on X, BJP state Chief Annamalai mentioned, “DMK leaders have reached a brand new low of their uncouth behaviour by passing vile feedback & unpardonable public discourse towards our Hon PM”.
“DMK MP Smt Kanimozhi avl was on the stage and didn’t trouble to cease her colleague,” he added.
Okay Kamaraj, a former chief minister of the erstwhile Madras State, was a Congress icon from Tamil Nadu. PM Modi had invoked Kamaraj at an election rally in Salem final week, saying his honesty and revolutionary schemes like mid-day meals have been huge inspiration for him.
Concentrating on the Prime Minister, DMK’s Anitha R Radhakrishnan is heard saying within the video, “You communicate as if Kamaraj hugged you.”
The DMK is but to reply to the costs.
Mr Radhakrishnan is just not alien to controversies. A newspaper advert commissioned by him, hailing the creation of a second launch pad for India’s house company, had sparked a livid row final month. The advert had a picture of the Chinese language flag prominently on the rocket within the poster.
