CBI books BJP’s top donor Megha engineering in bribery case

Aside from contributing to the BJP, the agency additionally donated Rs 195 crore to the BRS, Rs 85 crore to DMK, and Rs 37 crore to YSRCP. Within the FIR, the CBI has stated it had registered a preliminary enquiry (PE) on August 10, 2023 concerning the alleged bribery in Rs 315 crore venture associated to works of consumption nicely and pump home and cross-country pipeline on the built-in metal plant of the NMDC in Jagdalpur, which was awarded to the corporate.

The CBI has named eight officers of NISP and NMDC Ltd — retired government director Prashant Sprint; director (manufacturing) D Okay Mohanty; deputy common supervisor P Okay Bhuyan;

D M Naresh Babu; senior supervisor Subro Banerjee; retired CGM (finance) L Krishna Mohan; common supervisor (finance) Okay Rajshekhar; and supervisor (finance) Somnath Ghosh, who allegedly acquired Rs 73.85 lakh in bribe.
