Capitol Police arrest man trying to enter the building with a hammer

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Capitol Police stated Friday that that they had arrested a person who was making an attempt to enter the constructing with a hammer.

The hammer was found Friday when 33-year-old Christopher Snow was going by means of safety on the Capitol Customer Middle, in line with Capitol Police.

An officer found the hammer inside the person’s backpack because it went by means of an X-ray machine, however the man “tried to seize the bag and have become combative” when the officer tried to look contained in the bag, USCP stated in a press launch.

Throughout a “battle,” officers “deployed a Taser to cease the person and take him into custody,” in line with the press launch.

Snow, from Canton, Ohio, is being charged with assault on a police officer, in line with the USCP.
