Arunachal Election: SP Injured As Stone-Pelting Ensues During Nomination Scrutiny In Longding

Violence erupted within the Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday through the scrutiny of nomination papers for the upcoming Meeting polls, leading to accidents to the Superintendent of Police, in keeping with an official. Arunachal Pradesh To Witness Simultaneous Meeting And Lok Sabha Polls

Arunachal Pradesh is gearing up for simultaneous Meeting and Lok Sabha polls scheduled for April 19. The Arunachal West and Arunachal East constituencies will witness voting for the 60-member meeting and two Lok Sabha seats.

Within the Arunachal West Lok Sabha constituency, Union Earth Science and Meals Processing Industries Minister Kiren Rijiju, representing the BJP, will face off in opposition to Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Nabam Tuki and 6 different candidates in a multi-cornered contest.

In the meantime, the Arunachal East Lok Sabha seat will witness a contest between the ruling BJP’s sitting MP, Tapir Gao, and Congress candidate Bosiram Siram, amongst others.

As of Wednesday, the final date for submitting nominations, a complete of 195 candidates submitted their papers for the 60 meeting constituencies. The deadline for withdrawal of candidature is March 30.

Vote counting for the Meeting and Lok Sabha polls is scheduled for June 2 and June 4, respectively.

Within the 2019 Arunachal Pradesh Meeting elections, the BJP emerged because the dominant occasion with 41 seats, adopted by JD(U) with seven seats, and the NPP with 5 seats. The Congress secured 4 seats, whereas the PPA and two Unbiased candidates additionally clinched victories. Moreover, the BJP swept each Lok Sabha seats within the state over the past election cycle.
