Centre bans JKNF for five years under UAPA for involvement in anti-India activities

NEW DELHI: The Union Ministry of Dwelling Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday issued an order banning the Jammu Kashmir Nationwide Entrance (JKNF), a constituent of the hardline Hurriyat Convention, for 5 years beneath the stringent anti-terror regulation UAPA for sowing seeds of disaffection amongst individuals and interesting in actions detrimental to the nation’s safety and sovereignty.

Within the notification issued late on Tuesday night, the MHA declared the JKNF headed by Nayeem Ahmad Khan an “illegal affiliation” with rapid impact beneath the Illegal Actions (Prevention) Act – UAPA. The order would have impact for a interval of 5 years, it stated.
